Sweetwaters Tented Camp
A sheltered oasis, clustered around a waterhole and set in the pristine calm of a private wildlife conservancy, Sweetwaters Tented Camp is in a class of its own. Abounding with wildlife, unfettered by the more rigorous strictures of the Kenyan National Parks and designed to offer a charming blend of under canvas ambiance and uncompromising luxury, it has long been the preferred retreat of wilderness and safari lovers alike. Each of the luxurious tents has a thatched roof, with en suite bathroom and its own veranda with views over the waterhole. The Waterhole bar, raised on timbered poles, is an enchanting evening hideaway offering an uninterrupted view of the waterhole and its many wilderness visitors.
Activities include both day and night game drives in open-sided 4WD safari vehicles, bush walks in the company of our resident naturalist, bird-watching, camel-trekking, beauty treatments and a wide range of al fresco dining experiences. Night game drives are an excellent way to spice up your nightlife in the wild! Whether you wish to seek out the elusive nocturnal wildlife or behold the thrilling world of predators stalking their prey. Because the Camp has its own private waterhole and saltlick, guests may enjoy unprecedented close encounters with the wildlife in the sanctuary of their natural habitat. Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the only place in Kenya to see these endangered, yet highly intelligent animals. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is the closest place from Nairobi to see “The Big Five”. It is also the Largest Black Rhino Sanctuary in East Africa, boasting a population of 78 black rhino! Its other wildlife includes an exciting catalogue of; white rhino, giraffe, zebra, eland, oryx, waterbuck, Grant’s gazelle, Thompson’s gazelle, cheetah, silver-backed jackal, hartebeest and baboon. The conservancy also boasts several hundred bird species.
