The whole flock has arrived!
This was the first group to arrive and even though some came in the middle of the night, they were all keen to start exploring the first day!
Old Delhi was an assault on all our senses. The teeming humanity, the sights, sounds and smells captivated us all as we rode rickshaws through the (very)narrow lanes and rubbed elbows with the locals on their bikes, motorbikes, tuk-tuks and feet.
We managed some shopping on the first day together though it took us a while to find the “right” places. Anokhi and Fab India were both good finds. ATMs have proved to be more of a challenge than we expected as finding a machine that is marked Interac or Cirrus is impossible. But if yu have a credit card, there is no problem getting money out – 10,000 INR at a time.
So after a two trips to Old Delhi so that everyone could see it, we spent a full day signtseeing. Our first stop was at a Sikh Temple which was fascinating and where they feed the multitudes in a kitchen which we were invited to visit. There were some great photo ops.
