Happy In Gardens

More photos from the journal of Julia on The English Garden Tour…

The women came from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland and they all lived this garden – Stancombe Park.

As with several gardens on our itinerary, this is not on the usual ‘Tourist trail’ of garden tours.

Set high on the Cotswold escarpment, it is two gardens; one created by Mrs Barlow (Julia, Mrs. B and Peter, her faithful gardening assistant) and the other an historic garden with a history from a gothic romance!

Through tunnels, past grottos and peek-a-boo views of a pretty lake with exhuberant plantings. Loved it!

After two busy days in Bath, tomorrow we visit 3 gardens that are delightfully different as they could be from each other….tell you more later.

Happy in Gardens,

Julia
